Have you been thinking about Hormones in Scottsdale, AZ? Hormones are a tough topic to tackle for many. They go for years wondering if they should have their hormones checked, or if their symptoms could be related to their hormones. Even more, many providers do not handle these complaints appropriately, further pushing patients to ignore their instincts. Today, I’d like to tell you about a patient case related to Hormones in Scottsdale, AZ . Hopefully this real experience will help some see that hormones may be the answer and can help.
The patient is a 46-year-old female with moderate complaints of hot flashes, depressive mood, irritability, anxiety, physical exhaustion, joint and muscle pains, difficulties with memory and concentration, weight gain, and dry/wrinkled skin. Her Female Assessment Score was 21. These symptoms had been going on for 3-5 years. She has a history of early menopause at age 42 and breast implant toxicity and subsequent removal. She had tried bioidentical creams, troches, sublinguals, and even BioTE in the past. She stated she had the best success with BioTE in the past, but after her breast implant removal she wanted to give her body a break. Her labs revealed that she was severely deficient in testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone; she was mildly deficient in Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, and thyroid hormone; she also had abnormal metabolism of fatty acids and growth factors. Based on her symptoms and lab results, it was recommended that we begin optimization with Hormones in Scottsdale, AZ.
In April 2020, she received her first round of implantable bioidentical hormone replacement pellets. She also received prescriptions for oral progesterone, thyroid hormone, and multiple supplements she was deficient in. Six weeks later, she returned for her follow up blood work and she reported a significant improvement in her symptoms. She stated she “feels great!”. Her Female Health Assessment has dropped from 21 to 8, with mild symptoms. We have sent her labs off for reevaluation to see if she may need a boost dosing of hormones. We will keep you posted how she does. If you would like to get your labs checked to see if you too could have a hormonal problem, give us a call.
